Whew! It's a HUGE challenge to continuously update the website AND make the jewelry!  I'm going to simplify things and create a smaller, blog-based website.   Additionally, I'll be updating the tutorials.  Right away I'll be taking the "Rock Identification" tutorial down.I've been blessed with some valuable feedback from Carl Carnein, with the Lake George Gem & Mineral Club, Colorado. I'm taking his valuable advice and will be re-doing all of the photographs and making a couple of other changes.  This may take mea wee bit, but I'm hoping to have it completed by mid-October.

Also, my days at the Farmer's Market have come to an end. I will visit occasionally next year and try to get a guest spot now and then, but now that it is time to get back to my full-time job, I must whittle back on my extra-curriculars!

Learn the basics of identifying rocks in the field for $20! Featuring rock samples (1"<) from Northwestern British Columbia, Canada, this kit is a great starting point for any rock or mineral enthusiast. Samples include: B.C. Jade (nephrite), rhodonite, Haida Gwaii Agate, shale, banded shale, geyserite, Copper River "marble" and others.

In this kit you will receive a condensed version of the freely available tutorial that I have created (which is also available for FREE to download on this website under "Tutorials"), the above mentioned rock samples,  black and white unglazed ceramic plates, a thick glass ceramic scratch plate, Canadian copper penny, steel nail, drop bottle for white vinegar, a magnifying glass with two levels of magnification for close-up looks at minerals  - all in a simple wooden box you can decorate yourself, or leave as it is.

This kit will introduce the basic features of stones that help aid in initial identification in the field - streak, colour, hardness (MOHs)  and texture.

I'm truly proud of this new store.  When my domain was first hacked, I was devastated. After I thought about if for a while (crying and grumbling and yes, even whining), I realized it may actually have been a good thing - the universe was pointing me in a new direction. I let go of my attachment to the old site and faced my new challenge as an opportunity. This new site represents my abilities.
